Her extensive career reflects a commitment to promoting sustainable practices, with a particular emphasis on social inclusion. Ms. Akter’s expertise lies in the intersection of urban waste, water, and agriculture. Throughout her career, she has spearheaded numerous projects aimed at developing and implementing sustainable waste and water management systems. She has played a pivotal role in advocating for the use of waste and water in agriculture while ensuring that these practices are socially inclusive. Ms. Akter has been a champion for gender equality, actively empowering women and marginalized communities in sustainable agriculture, waste, and water management initiatives. Armed with an MSc in Horticulture, Ms. Akter seamlessly integrates scientific knowledge into her work, particularly in the development of sustainable agriculture practices. M. F. Shadekul Islam

Adviser on renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency

M. F. Shadekul Islam is a renowned renewable energy expert with over 20 years of experience in the field. He has a strong background in renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, and biomass. He has been involved in numerous projects ranging from small-scale community-based initiatives to large-scale commercial projects, and has worked closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector organizations, and civil society groups. Uttam Kumer Sarker

Mr. Uttam Kumer Sarker is a highly experienced training and capacity building specialist with a career spanning over 25 years. He has dedicated his career to waste, sanitation, and Faecal Sludge Management (FSM) for urban and rural local government, working extensively in this field to improve the lives and health of people in his community. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated his expertise in designing and implementing as well as providing technical assistance and training to local government officials and community members. His deep knowledge of waste management, sanitation, and FSM has allowed him to develop effective strategies for improving the health and wellbeing of people in both urban and rural areas.

He has also worked extensively in the area of sanitation, developing strategies for improving sanitation infrastructure and promoting good hygiene practices. Throughout his career, he has been committed to capacity building, empowering local government officials and community members with the skills and knowledge needed to sustainably manage waste, improve sanitation, and implement FSM systems. His passion for this work has made him a valuable asset to organizations and communities seeking to improve their waste management and sanitation practices.

Md. Mizanur Rahaman

Adviser on livelihood and Divisional Business Development

Mizanur Rahaman is an International Business Development expert in both the corporate and development sector. Mizanur completed his master’s degree in Agricultural Science as a regular academic plan from Bangladesh Agricultural University. He is one of the pioneer experts in northern region for Linking waste, Environment, Farming, Livelihood and Empowerment.

He has over 15 years working experience both in national and abroad major functioning as a senior position overseeing different donor on waste management, sanitation, marketing and agricultural development projects. Mizanur have been working around value chain development engaging multiple stakeholders’ platforms, an international standard of organizational skills, and problem-solving, flexible. He has proven expertise of quality compost preparation by solid waste management and their grading, shorting, packaging, branding & marketing through applied value chain approach. He has positive attitude of environmental sustainability gender equality and woman & youth development. Mr. Rahman has taken on the role of Business Development Adviser for the Rangpur region, where he will be responsible for driving business growth and development in this key market.

Jamal Uddin Miah

Jamal got near about 2 decades of meaningful engagement with private sector works and NGOs also within this time he have been active near about 15 years of Value Chain and market development work with the NGOs and engagement with Private Sector Enterprises and corporate sector in the hill district and southern part of Bangladesh. He has proven on market system development proficient, private sector development, value chain development, sector development and market linkage who demonstrated working knowledge development of market system changes with a key focus towards SMEs business growth and expansion. Managed Market assessment, Market Linkages services and livelihoods activities, Business Planning and BDS intervention for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) development as well as facilitate partnerships with different sectors and private business in rural and urban level. He has experienced more than seven years water and sanitation as well as assist to solid waste management entrepreneurs to leading for management capacity through market system approach under Practical Action and Samajic Orthnaytic Unnayan. Assist to conduct market research and value chain analysis, business plan, market linkage and development technical capacity.
